Adding some kind of roofing material to your barrel sauna will extend its lifespan. We don't love the look of shingles, so we don't sell them. We recommend purchasing metal roofing from your local building store.

How long should I sauna for?

We recommend spending 20 minutes in the sauna, followed by a cold plunge or shower, then 20 minutes of rest. And repeat!

Above all, listen to your body and if something doesn't feel right, exit the sauna, sit down and drink water.

Talk to a physician before trying hot-cold therapy if you have a pre-existing health condition or are pregnant.

Our saunas are made out of Eastern White Cedar, harvested right here in Canada.

How do I care for my sauna?

Interior: Use a damp mop and a sauna-specific disinfectant after use.
Keep towels on your sauna benches to minimize sweat and oils stains. Use paraffin oil once/year to protect the wood in your sauna from decaying due to humidity. Do NOT apply wood stain or sealant to the interior.

Exterior: The wood will eventually turn silvery from the action of the sun and rain without harming the wood itself. To preserve the sauna’s natural colour for longer and to generally protect the wood from rain and sunlight, use a UV-inhibited stain on the exterior.
